South Hill Craftsman This home has the charm of the Arts and Crafts Era yet incorporates all the conveniences of today’s technology. The home nestles into a hillside which his home for a large wonderful basalt outcropping in the corner of the lot. Small amounts of Basalt stone on the exterior tie this home to it’s site and surroundings and ultimately it’s northwest regional roots.Upon entering the home one is greeting by a two story Foyer flanked by both a Library and formal Dining Rm. Directly ahead is a beautiful switchback stairway leading up to a bridge which passes from one side upstairs to the other and also helps to offer a visual break between the Foyer and the Great Rm. beyond. Alongside the Great rm. are a large stone-faced fireplace to one side and the Kitchen and Eating area to the other. Changes in ceiling heights help to give these spaces their own identity and charm. From the Kitchen a hallway leads to the Pantry, Mudroom, Powder Rooms and then on to a back door to the driveway allowing an easy passageway for children to go in and out of the home without having to mess up primary entries or pass through the garage. The Master Bedroom is situated opposite the Kitchen to the other side of the Great rm. and is attached to a large Master Bath and Closet. Upstairs are 3 Bedrooms and a shared compartmental bathroom for the children. Downstairs at the Lower Floor is housed a large Rec. Rm., Exercise Rm., Guest Bedroom and Bath as well as ample storage.
